Consider whether you sit at a desk, move between buildings, meet clients or spend time in a setting with specific clothing requirements. Follow your workplace’s own guidance where it applies. A general fashion article cannot establish what is suitable around machinery, laboratories or other specialist environments.

Give sleeves a practical check
Place your hands as if typing and reach across a table. Notice whether the cuffs fall over your fingers, collect on the desk or pull at the upper arm. Decorative cuffs can look attractive but may interfere with repeated tasks. A simpler sleeve finish can be easier to live with if you use your hands continuously.

A textured fabric may disguise small creases visually, but that is not a substitute for checking the actual piece. Consider how it behaves against a chair and under the strap of your normal bag.

Start with one abaya and two inner outfits you already own. Keep the neckline, sleeves and hem relationship consistent so getting dressed requires fewer decisions. A scarf and shoes can change the appearance without requiring a separate abaya for every combination.
Review after a full day
Before buying several similar pieces, note where you needed to adjust the outfit. Did the sleeves interfere with your tasks? Was the hem too long on the journey?
